Yes, I know you have a backup ride. Some day I plan to make use of it.

Don't want to derail your thread but with the setback we suffered last week we need to watch all our pennies. It's only $15 to most people, but that's a substantial investment for me right now.

Sounds like a fun adventure. Glad you made it back OK. I saw that storm rolling in & called to warn a friend that was out cruising on his new custom bike. He was extremely grateful. Would have called you too if I had known. Keep in mind I'm only about 2 miles from there. Call if you need a hand ...

I just added the updated information to Destinations - Tampa Bay- Weedon Island . I also included a modified (crude) map of the power plant outflow area to more accurately represent the current status of that area. From the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services " Pinellas County The Bartow Electric G...

Re: Gandy Power Plant.

Also East side is Security zone. 150 yards from shore for about half a mile. they do notify sheriff and FWC and USCG Great, then I should have nothing to worry about from the sheriff and FWC. They don't seem to care what violations take place when they are around. (This I have witnessed many times ...

Thanks. I was fairly sure it started yesterday.

I think it's "no entry" until sometime in spring.

No Boating Zone at Gandy Powerplant Outflow, When?

Anyone know when the area around the outflow becomes a no boating zone?

I can't remember what date the signs have on them. I thought the exclusion started 11/15.

What a great day it was. A cool little breeze in the morning, becoming somewhat windier & warmer in the afternoon. What a beautiful area, too. Hardly any boat traffic to contend with (except for the guy in the blue tower boat running around all over the area all day). Phil knows where the fish a...

Ran into Spencer as I was taking out & got the story first hand. I wish you could have seen the smile on his face as he was telling me about his morning. Way to go! Glad your day worked out for you.

(As for me, nothing.)

Nice job! Much better than my foray the previous day.

Do you recall what what the tide was during the Redstravaganza?

Were you inside or outside of Weedon? (This one's optional. Don't expect you to give away too many secrets. 8) )

Training Day.....

Had the most awesome trip Sunday with madmarco. Couldn't have asked for better weather starting off. A slight chill in the air, absolutely no wind in the morning, not a cloud in the sky, the water was glass smooth and boat traffic was at an absolute minimum. Right from the beginning there were swirl...
