Nice gill. Been thinking about going after a mess, but the lakes and rivers over here are way up and the water has been muddy for 2 months. Nothing but catfish are biting well.

Bait tubes work well on the Left Coast because the water is so much colder than that of the Gulf or Atlantic in its more southerly regions. The warmer water is not conducive to keeping bait alive in small containers.

Have you tried kayakfishingstuff.com? The $250 really isn't bad, but you should be able to pick up one for around $175 at kfs.

Deeper water reenty.

plagsage, in that regard, its much like a canoe. Once in water over about 3-4 ft, its difficult to reenter open canoes and kayak type boats. Float bags will help. You may also want to try re-entry from the bow or stern similar to how some recreational sit inside kayakers do re-entry. Paddle floats m...

The Mojo looks great, but it does not appear to be easy to mount more than one rod in front unless you use the Scotty triple mount or the like. I prefer four rod holders toward the bow for drifting bait. Rear rod holders are, to me, mostly useless except to carry rods and/or a net. Also don't care f...

For deeper water than you can use a stake out pole or rough water, the claw or Bruce type anchor is one of the best. Very popular on the Gulf Coast. and inexpensive in the 2.2 lb size:

Gerald Kennedy in Texas builds some awesome fishing kayaks, as well as river racing kayaks. He recently built one for a friend that''s a humdinger of a fishing craft. You may want to look over his website and contact him with your question. He can give you good advice on how well your plan will work...

I've been pleased with my Pelican dry boxes. After nearly 3 years, still no leaks. The cost a bit, but have been worth it. Keeps my keys, wallet, and cell phone safe, as well as my camera when I remember it.

Is that a lure made by the MirrOlure company?
For the right price, I can be persuaded to round up a few small yappy dogs...specializing in toy poodles...and ship. They make the best gator bait.

No pictures yet, but I took a 1 x 4, mounted two Scotties and my fishfinder on it, drilled holes, cut a 1 x 2, and use bolts/wing nuts through the two to clamp it to the gunwales. I fish freshwater, so didn't bother with stainless bolts/nuts, but would use stainless if going salt. I just remove the ...

In sensitivity, I doubt that equivalent priced one piece baitcasting and spinning rods come close to a fly rod.

Light bites when fly fishing, just as when bass fishing, are best felt with a sensitive rod. It makes a difference. My high modulus graphite fly rod telegraphs the lite bite quickly and its not watching the line. That's especially true in low light conditions or when fishing deep with a fly rod. In ...

Even under those conditions, sensitivity of two piece rods compared to one piece is insignificant. As for not making one piece rods if two piece ones were more sensitive, most likely, one piece rods are less costly to make. If looking for sensitivity, one best go for the rod with a high modulus fact...
