Yes, KARS is open to the public. There is a fee to go in, I think is 5 bucks.

That is so cool. I had my son convinced today but when I was putting the kayak in the car I noticed that he had doubts and decided not to go. Is at least 1hr 1/2 to 2hr drive for me to any coast and I didn't want to just get there and have to come back without getting wet. He is 4 as well.

Jimmy: I saw your post on other forum and it says you are in Lake County. How long it take you to get to the Land of Oz from here? Is it closer than the East Coast Lagoons?
