Re: If you can HEAR thunder.....

Very good story Sarge.

Moving back towards Ocala (from Ft Myers...) soon. Used to fish that area alot in my kayak. Made me laugh cause I can close my eyes and see the bridge and the big oak tree next to the boat ramp/kayak launch there even though I haven't launched there in over 6 years...

Re: Confession time

Yeah that really sucks. I caught a 27inch redfish on a spook jr and the rear hooks were in his stomach since he totally wolfed it. I must have measured him 5 different times and I left the spook it's mouth. I took it home since unhooking it was probably gonna kill it. I left the lure in his mouth in...

Re: Fall Kingfish Run???

I'll believe it when I have one sitting on my lap. Lol, that's funny! Been dying to go out and give it a try but currently I am stuck on-call :shaking: At least this gives me some projects to do after work. Gotta mount my in-hull sounder tomorrow and get my biggest reel all gussied up for ...

Fall Kingfish Run???

Anybody hear anything or anyone going/gone out yet for Kingfish??? Just curious, I probably gonna hit the Venice beach area (near the pier) and go offshore in search for something that screams drag, once I am no longer on-call... :shaking: I know that alot of folks have pursued them in the past.

Re: Hi from Ft. Myers

JeffB,

Have you tried Matlacha Pass yet? I normally launch from Matlacha Community Park (free parking, no crazies, very nice launch) and have done well. Normally fish for trout, reds and during different times of the year you will find snook, tarpon and cobia...

Re: A Message to Powerboaters from a KayakFISHERMAN

I used to put in at that park and fish the Rainbow River often back in 2007-2008 before I moved south to work. Used to do really well catching panfish and the occasional bass, often early before it got hot or late evenings. I am not suprised by the number of people that don't have any communication ...

Re: Question about Life Jacket

Life Jackets are like seat belts.... Just wear it and shut up about it. I've been in 8" inches of fresh and saltwater up to 200ft in the ocean getting pulled by kingfish. The policy of having it accessible is silly to me. I nearly got hit admidships by a very large manatee doing flank speed. So...

tequesta/jupiter area fishing?

Hello, I'm moving down to Tequesta next week and I will be working in Juno Beach. Both work and home isn't more 3 miles from the ocean and 1/2 mile from the loxahatchee. I plan on bringing my tarpon 140 with me and I am looking for some places to launch. Thinking about trying to fish next saturday, ...

anybody fishing??

Gonna be down in tampa this week for classes and apartment hunting. Don't have any classes on Wednesday and wondered if anybody's going out. Staying in westchase but I'm willing to drive. I'm not more than 6 miles from DB and was thinking of fishing there since it's close.

yeah leave the ipod at home or in the car. you'd be suprised how much you can miss (like tailing redfish or the rattlesnake swimming towards you!!!). I carry a headlamp on my hat that I keep on during early mornings and evenings/nights and I also have one mounted on the back of my crate to increase ...

Went to Ozello today with some friends and caught a few trout in the fog. the highlight of the trip was looking off to the side of my kayak to see a damned snake approaching. pucker factor... e^(2.30258509299)!!!!!! Amazingly I regret that I didn't grab my camera instead of wildly paddling away from...

good weather and hopefully good fishing

Looking to go fishing tomorrow, Tuesday and Wednesday. I live in Ocala and I'm probably gonna head either to my usual stomping grounds (Yankeetown) or several other places (Crystal River, Cedar Key...). It's been a long semester and I need a relaxing fishing trip. I don't want to drive more than 1 1...

Just get an state ID card. I got one that i keep in dry storage in my kayak, along with my fishing license and car keys. Think it cost me $5.00 when I got my car registration renewed. Better than constantly removing your driving license from your wallet or worse not having any ID on you at all. (I n...
