Big Ol Trout Over 30"

I went out solo yesterday in Dunedin 12/16/08. I was in at 7:30a for the last hour of the falling tide. The morning air was foggy and the sun was just breaking through and making the glassy surface shine. I had a sense of this being a very nice day. I started tossing around an Exude RT Slug after se...

I went out. It's funny that you mentioned all the people moving in on you. Every time we moved from a spot a boat would come and anchor up in the exact location we just left. As we paddle back to the launch we usually hit all the docks along the way. This time a boat motored in front of us and fishe...

Went shopping on Black Friday...

It was crowded and lots of pushing around on the flats in Clearwater. I did manage to get some really nice deals on some upper slot reds. I also found a few trout that were still sitting around as the morning rush came in. It was a good day even though I spent all my greens in one place... I caught ...

Windy Reds

I went out yesterday, even after losing the axle on my trailer. It was cold and windy and not a great start to the morning. I eventually made it to the launch a couple hours late. Upon arrival there's Jesse with a 33" snook. That was at least a good sign. After getting blown around for most of ...

A collapsible board is a great idea. It could be made to lay flat with stainless hinges.

Norm I hear ya...I have caught 4 snook over 37" this year. Now I just need to make it happen at tourney time.

I just finished my board. It was a messy job with the 5200. It did turn out rather nice though. Thanks for the part numbers Todd.

Not sure if I'm going to keep it a full 45" or not...just seems pretty big for the kayak.

I saw it last night too. It was pretty funny. They resort to drinking when the fish don't bite.

Quick question for those who made the board mentioned by Todd...

Which side did you put the sticker on?

One side is a porous faux wood grain finish. And the other side has groves. Both surfaces look like it would let water in and make the sticker come off.

Gators

I'm new to kayaking fishing and I want to check out a few lakes/ponds. I have not had a problem with gators when fishing from shore. I think I would feel a little lower on the food chain when floating next to them in a kayak. Do gators investigate you while you're in their home? Are they likely to a...
