Re: Please read this! Could have saved a life

The biggest mistake was being comfortable that day! I bet all the safety equipment would have been on board had you never been there before. But you paddle this location all the time so what could possibly go wrong right? We need to remind ourselves always ‘WHAT IF' and be 100% prepared. Always trea...

Re: GPS and Scotty mounts

Taking a look at http://www.yakattack.us" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I like the concept using the Mighty Mount along with the Screwball to hold my GPS. I often swap the scewball with the PanFish Portrait to hold my camera. When I'm done what I like best, Mighty Mount rem...

Nice catch, even better is the way you are handling the fish before releasing.

Re: Safety Be-Damned Son - We're Shark Fishing!

Hmmmm ... Lets agree shit happens! Had the shark given one last thrust up against that kayak half out of the water a different news report indeed. You are NEVER ever on the positive side of "shit happens" when it come to the men in grey. Just saying!

When the fish changed direction in my favor, I laid the stakeout across my lap. After playing this game ...

Re: Anchor questions

I will bring my anchor based on weather conditions. Most often I only bring it when it’s going to be windy. I have my anchor rigged to a retractable 16’ dog leash. However, I keep my Steak out pole with me regardless. I purchased a 6’ yak Gear Mud Stick for $49.00. Opposed to the paddle the steak ou...

Staying calm is a smart thing.

A few of us decided to meet Friday before Easter and do some kayak fishing. We launched near Kingfish down in Bradenton early that morning. An hour later I saw the largest Shark I ever want to see again from a kayak!!! The massive creature was about eight feet off to my left traveling in the same di...
