Re: FISHING FRIDAY MORNING

I'll be out in Ft. D area at dark-o'clock. Need to restock my trout reserves and maybe find a red, too.

Re: Dear Rik

I guess the "management" only wants us to reveal where we fish, not where they do... The "management" had nothing to do with his humor. And, expecting the wrath from a certain no lure sharing, this is my beach, keep those damn kids away from me, stinky damn cigar smokin, red bea...

Re: Tents

Eureka Apex IIxt It packs small and light. There are also two vestibules to store your gear when it rains. I have camped in the snow and the heat of summer and been comfortable. The tent is rate as a two man, but you had better be really good friends. It is perfect for one person of my size. I agre...

Re: Blowing Rocks

It's unfortunate that you didn't post any pics of the water "blowing" up through the rocks when the tide came in. It is quite a sight to see (I used to live in W. Palm area).

Re: New entry fee for Fort Desoto

I for one have no problem with an entry fee. $8, $5, I'll pay it to keep the parks open and kept up. Budget cuts have to come from somewhere and we all have to pitch in.

Ft. DeSoto 5/7/10-Dead Fish Pic Alert!

It's 5 a.m. and I'm standing knee-deep in the water of Bunces Pass off Shell Key. Every once in a while I feel a spider crab run into my ankle or across my foot causing me to jump out of the water (well, almost) and splash back down loud enough to scare all the fish in the Park away (not to mention ...

Re: Rookery Bay Trip April 28-29, 2010...

Noseeums are the work of the devil. I can find no purpose for their existence other than to make our life miserable. You should have stayed on the beach. All those folks disappear as the evening approaches and you'd had the beach to your self. The wind would have kept the bugs away. The boaters han...

Rookery Bay Trip April 28-29, 2010...

...(or, I’ll Never do this Again) I had been looking for somewhere to go camping other than Shell Key Preserve for a two night trip before the weather got too hot for camping. After scouring the PF boards I was intrigued by Rookery Bay. By the descriptions I read about, it seemed to be what I was lo...
