Rivet question
Hoping some of the more mechanically minded on the site can help me. I need to rivet my kayak seat to a PVC pipe that I'm using to raise it. It also needs to pass thru a 1x3x 5/8 board. I'm guessing the gap is about 1 inch. Where can I find a half dozen of these rivets with such a wide gap? My only ...

Thinking of fishing the Merritt Island area next week.
Looking to come up from West Palm to fish the NMZ or nearby areas. I'm looking at KARS park or Eddy Creek as launch points but open to suggestions. I also have a concern that the Propel driven my Native Mariner 12.5 might not be useable in the shallow water. Thanks Bob

Re: Looking for local info on fishing in the Ruskin area
Rik & JB Thanks for the great info! I think I'll drop the kayak in Wednesday at Simmons Park, I spoke to them this morning and the assured me they open at 7 am. I feel a little more secure parking there. May even stay over a extra night and fish a bit Thursday before heading home. I'll have to h...

Looking for local info on fishing in the Ruskin area
I've got to head over for a funeral on Tuesday (5/21/13) from West Palm Beach to Ruskin, thinking of staying over the night and getting out for a day of fishing before returning. Could sure use some guidance on where to launch, etc. Also any suggestion for a good inexpensive motel to stay the night?...

Mangrove shoreline and dock fishing strategy

Do I need something for connectors on Hummingbird FF?
Can anyone recommend a good product to use on the connectors on my Hummingbird. I wash the unit and the wire ends down after each use and dry them but I'm wondering if I should be spraying them down with something after each use or perhaps something that will improve the contact before each use?

Shear pin for Native Watercraft Mariner Propel
I checked the Austin and the Native Watercraft Propel Easy Cruz Kit is $115.00. I realize if I had catastrophe damage to the prop it would really be handy to have the whole kit in my tool kit but I really don't want to invest that much right now. Anyone with a kit that could take a look at the pin a...

Re: Question about a 6 weight rod
Thanks for the thoughtful replies. I picked up the 6 weight cause it fits the bill at the right price. Being new at fly fishing it's hard to make decisions without some trial & error or success. Time will tell and I'll pass along my experience at some point. Hey Hillbill when do those groups mee...

Question about a 6 weight rod
I'm looking to add a 6 weight rod to the 8 weight rod I now own, The 8 is for saltwater and would like to get the 6 for fooling around in some local freshwater ponds. The question is should I go even lower to a 4-5 weight? I found an Orvis Rocky Mountian fly rod, 6 #, 8'6' long on Craig's List for $...

Question about Wellnut fasteners
I'm getting ready to install my anchor trolly on my Native Watercraft Mariner and am thinking about using Wellnut Fastener instead of the thru hull nut and bolt, (which I know Rik prefers!), a bit tight in the access area according to where I install the pulleys. I'm just wondering if any one has us...

Re: Finished tricking out my new Mariner (???)
I found in the past that the rod holders just worked better further back. I was able to reach them ok and they didn't get in the way of me putting/pulling stuff from the crate

Check out video of Native Watercraft Mariner for Asia
A cool YouTube video of an Asian owner of a Mariner 12.5 Propel putting it through it's paces. Gotta love the sounds used in the transitions from scene to scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DYosbq3alo" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The video really show the propel unit ...
