Re: Bass Pro Shops moving to Tampa...

If I may, here's my 2 cents. Everytime I go to Orlando I stop at the BPS, it's like a theme park. I love to go look around, however, I don't usually buy much there. Besides being over priced for most of their stuff (I have found good deals on occasion) my biggest issue is with some of the people tha...

Re: First Take a Liberal Fishing Trip

Those pics are great, looks like you guys had a great day on the mythical Cows Creek, gotta admit, I liked the ones with the pup in them myself, just too cool.

Re: A Good Deed Repaid

Great story, all good pics but that first pic.....WOW, that's a crazy cool shot, that needs to be framed and hung up, a pic like that would have a proud spot on the wall.

Re: Weedon Island 8/23/12

I've been back in some of the trails in Weedon Island and there are a couple that go to the waters edge and not to a look out tower or scenic overlook spot. However, they're a pretty good hike if you're dragging your kayak and gear, even if you have a cart. I'm not sure you're even allowed to drag i...

Re: Weedon Island 8/23/12

I don't know exactly where in Weedon Island you were fishing. If you follow Weedon Island to where it opens up to go into the bay, there's plenty of openings to go back into the mangroves from the Weedon side and the Bay side. It's almost strictly paddling back thru there, if this the area then I th...

Re: Aquadream spoons

A friend of mine showed me one of these recently and was saying they're brand new on the market and he was getting a bunch of hits on it. I told him it's not new, I had one a few years back, as matter of fact I had the same color (white spoon, red hook, weedless). I also said that not long after I s...

Re: Morning of Many Species

When I go out I usually have 2 rods with me, one rigged with a jig and the other with a topwater, spoon, etc. However, I've never thrown a jig into the same area as a hit/miss with a topwater, honestly never thought about it, I a;ways figured that if there's a strike and a miss with some action that ...

Re: Morning of Many Species

How well do topwaters do in the wintery months when the fish kind-a slow down. Last winter was fairly warm and the fish were hitting pretty decent for winter fishing but I didn't try using any topwaters.

Re: We have lost an old friend

My condolences to all of you on the loss of your friend, may he rest in peace. I've never met him, but judging from the posts, I'm going say that those of us that didn't know him have missed out on knowing someone special.

Re: Morning of Many Species

I mostly use a topwater that dives but I also use a couple of poppers. Do the poppers work better in deeper water as opposed to shallow water?

Re: Morning of Many Species

Since the subject is topwater lures, I have a question. When and where is the right time time use? When you get a hit on a topwater it's a rush, for me anyway, just gets the adenalibne pumping. It almost doesn't matter what's hitting it, it's still a yeehaw moment (again, for me anyway). I always he...

ok, that was just freakin' hilarious, you have to sub,it that story to one of the fishing mags or web sites that feature funny fishing stories (well, funny to the rest of us, maybe another month before you see the humor like we do-sorry). I say that with all due respect, BTW, a video would've been e...

I pretty new to kayak fishing and a coupkle of people have said Kayak Angler's a good read but I Haven't checked them out yet....
