Re: Tampa Bay Frogman Swim 2016 - registration open

I might show up this year and bring the trailer if anyone needs a ride back.

Probably wont escort, don't trust myself in an emergency.

CooknFish

Mark Bellote aka “Cooknfish” Another friend to the PF community gone way to soon. Mark was a gifted writer, someone who I took inspiration and advice from. I thought I would share this: “A day in the life of an angler: The one that got away. I wasn’t seriously looking for a bite. Hell I wasn’t even ...

TerryW

It’s with a heavy heart that I write this: Terry Stetson Wilson and I broke into the Tampa Bay kayak fishing scene about the same time fifteen years ago. We were both members of the Central Florida Kayak Anglers club, and while I have been fishing the waters of Tampa Bay since I was a kid, I believe...

Re: Just a Reminder for You Newbies

Better yet, don't go out on a day that keep boats from going out.

Use your best judgment. There will always be another day to go fishing.

Re: Not impressed

While I didn't really know JayB all that much, I fished with him once, he was a huge part of the Tampa Bay kayak fishing scene. To not recognize him on the site he created would be a shame. But its your site now Brett, do with it as you will. I would like to see some type of page to honor our other ...

Re: Doa Tournament 2015

From my perspective, it used to be a fun get away for the weekend. The last time I fished it though, some kid won and he had a damn cast net in the back of his truck. I missed out by one inch of not making a legal slam and got squat. The prize structure has always been on the somewhat "lame&quo...

Yeah, I'll look at other dates. Was trying to fit it in between tournaments, the Masters, other stuff.

Re: Paddle In / Swap Meet **March 7th - Fort Desoto**

Honestly thinking of just cancelling this. 3 replies is not a Paddle-In.

Steve, John, Mark, maybe we can get together at another location.

Paddle In / Swap Meet **Date TBD - Fort Desoto**

So I was thinking its been a long time since we had a Paddle In, so how about we get one together. We can also throw in a Swap Meet, as I know that's been brought up before.

This post as been edited to give us time to pick a better date, in order to get more involvement. Stay tuned.

Re: Safety

Rik,

If we had a PFTS that day, I know I didn't fish it. I remember driving down to the water off Apollo Beach and saying to myself how bad it was.

Greg Becker was one of the ones who found the body the next day at Simmons Park.

Re: Safety

In the last couple of years I can think of three very unfortunate, sad situations where a kayaker became separated from his kayak and lost his life. I'm sure there are more, but these three came to mind. One was near MacDill in Tampa bay a couple of years ago. His kayak was found and a day or two l...

Re: Found some reds, but....

Found the reds again today. Further out in the flats, just on the edge of grass (dying grass, just as jbdba01's article described). While I would like to take credit for the articles, most were written by the man, the myth Bill Heywood. His angling prowess is only surpassed by his rugged good looks...
