I went to mudhole over the weekend, NICE shop! They've got all kinds of goodies! I picked up a book and a video to get me started. I think I may buy the parts n peices this upcomming weekend. I'll try to build a 5wt for around $60. I figure if I ruin it, at least it's only $60. Cheaper than a blind ...

Building spinning rods AND fly rods...

Is there a rod wraping set up that can handle both or are they pretty much geared toward one OR the other but not both?

Of the two choices you've given, neither is a bad idea. However, getting married in the first place...now that was the bad idea! lol Naw seriously though...I'd let the fish go even though doing so is no guarantee that the fish will be biting again within a week or that it'll find it's way to YOUR lu...
