The Mirrolure top pup works great for pike, and they really do make a great show when they attack a topwater. the idea was to use topwaters john, but with the blazing sun, the fish seemed to be on the bottom down the...

Your pike are pattern challenged over there. would not disagree with you sir, but it does depend on the actual waters they inhabit. the lake district for example consists of mainly deep, clear water. the pike from those waters tend to have seriously beautiful markings/colourations. the water...

not a fishing report

Evenin all, our river season opens in a few weeks, so today I went to do a “work party” on a stretch of river that belongs to a small syndicate I am a member of. Our work party normally consists of a good clean up of any litter that may have been left by the winter floods, plus a bit of general main...

Are they edible? they are but its not the done thing over here. as the majority of fishing is fresh water over here, if we eat them, then we wou...

Headed to a local pond with my nephew for a few hours, he had never been fishing before so I was hoping to get him his first fish. Arrived mid afternoon, sun was out in bursts, wind was blowing which made it rather chilly but hopefully the fish would be biting. As Robbie had never fished before, I o...

uk no kayak report

Ok, so its been way to long since I last got out for some fishing, the river season is closed over here, plus my piking is on hold to allow them some respite after spawning, so having a few hours free I headed to a local pond. The rain and hail had eased off and the sun was actually trying to break ...
