Re: Microwave guide

What I dont get is the cynical viewpoint from some on the board, that every new idea is written off as a gimmick and useless, without even trying it. Clearly some like me are more interested in gear than others, but the logic that if something worked in the past, it cant be improved on, is pretty sh...

Re: Microwave guide

Bring all the fancy, new fangled equipment you want and in the end the person casting the rod will be the difference in accuracy not the equipment. Very similar to golf. So let me get this right you, are saying equipment dosent matter in sports? New technology in golf clubs havent made a difference...

Re: Microwave guide

Jim, the photo's show no oscillation of the line after the Microwave guide, where conventional guides there is plenty down the line. My accuracy improved without changing any guides but the first and second from the bottom. These are the only two guides they send when you order.

Re: Microwave guide

The Microwave guide makes casting smoother, longer, and more accurate. Micro guides by Fuji is just a smaller guide system. The Microwave guide allows you to go to even smaller guides than Fuji recommends. Smaller guides equal less weight better rod bending characteristics and longer casts. I think ...

Re: Microwave guide

Fact is you dont have to go that small, they mention the fact that they dont plan on bringing the knot through on theirs. The only guides Microwave supplies is the first double guide and the one following it, its up to the rod builder how small after that. The results are still there, try it before ...

Re: Microwave guide

Right on Jim, I had the Fugi micro guide system on my custom rods by Phinla, with the Microwave guide the cast is MUCH smoother, longer, and more accurate, I already had #6 guides and never had a problem at all with triple surgeon leader knot. Also for you Wavespin fans  Here is some info on ne...

Re: Microwave guide

I dont get any with the Wavespin reel. Besides that feature, I like the reel for its light weight, longer casts, great drag, and price. The guide was designed for longer more accurate casts and it makes a noticeable difference there, but I think it may help prevent windknots too because it stops lin...

Re: Canoe vs. Kayak

Cant generalize when it comes to canoes. Some are narrow and low freeboard, basically a kayak without a deck and some are much beamier and have a lot more free board and stability. My Hornbeck is a 14 ft. solo canoe built of carbon and kevlar so it will get blown around more by wind because it has h...
