You were fishing naked?DaveR wrote:Used to fish it often. Generally would bare right after leaving the channel and work my way down the far shore. Topwater bite was good for snook and reds. If the tide is low in the morning and winds are light I would go straight outside and look for tailers.

Re: Wishing my friend a happy birthday.
Been thinking about Mark all day. We used to fish sheephead together this time of year. I'll be putting an extra one in the cooler for you tomorrow, mate. You were one of the good guys...

Fishing with Jay
This April will mark the fourth anniversary of the death of Jay Brewington, one of the Founding Fathers of Paddle-Fishing.com. For those of you who didn't know him, you really missed out. He was a real Renaissance Man, a great friend, and a long-time fishing buddy. I never heard him speak a bad word...

4 Species in 4 Days
Breaking from the tradition of our annual Cedar Key camping trip, the lovely Miss Daniela and I headed south in search of new-to-her species. We used a local guide to start things off in search of Sheepshead, wading the balmy waters SOTE. She went through a small box of lures before the guide finall...

SR 24 all the way to CK. Left at the stop sign (the only one) then a right just before the park. There is a kayak launch at the beach right before the boatramp.
Good Luck!

Re: GENERAL TIDE QUESTION
You will not have water at Shell Mound on a negative low tide (I assume you're talking about tides this weekend). Also, keep an eye on the wind forcast as the Northerlies and/or Easterlies can keep the tide from coming in all the way. Alternatively, you will always have water at the town dock to fis...

The Wind Is Our Friend
Set out in less than favorable conditions this morning; a slack tide and howling Northerlies. Found a place to get out of the wind and started working the mangrove line on the leeward shore. Picked up a bakers half-dozen of these Bull Rat Reds (that's right - they are not under-slot, they are Bull R...
