a good rule of thumb is no longer than the length of your boat. I would say start at 12ft and go less if needed.

Wooden dowel is the way to go, the PVC just never seemed quite right, ts bouyancy doesn't help either.

3 for me in the yak, 4 in the canoe, i need to work out how to rig 4 in the yak though.

1# Light rigged with either an Exude or SS. Minnow

2# Medium Light, with Quasi-Spoon, or Quasi-Spinnerbait

3# Medium Heavy with a She Dog, or Top Dog Jr.

4# Medium with a Cork and Jig rig.

10lb on my light rods, Spoons , jerkbais, jigs etc.

20LB my top water rod.

Really dont gt that much trouble with the 10 knotting, occasionally, but not so often to think about changing it!

Ray the only spoon you'll need is the Quasi spoon mate :wink: , it will catch you all the main 3 species here. I'd also bet it will be deadly on the pike and perch back home too.
