Re: Used fly reel wanted

If I had one I'd be happy to. I just have two. An Old Florida and an Orvis. Love em to death. Good luck on your quest and I hope you are able to get on the water soon enough. Nothing like sight casting to reds and snook!

Re: Tarpon Rig question

I've seen half a dozen rods explode, one dragged to Davey Jones Locker, and there was even a foul mouthed Irishman out there who had a $600 fancy shmancy Van Stahl reel crap out on him. As Walt said. Tackle up!

Re: No long lining for me! Not yet!

Thanks Rik. So 99, mmm Barbara Feldon, but I digress, read and heed. If you don't have a drift chute, buy one. It's mucho important. Go for a ride a few minutes and then throw it out. Have it at the ready! Pls don't go it alone until you have some fish under your belt. It's just plain irresponsible ...

Re: No long lining for me! Not yet!

Somewhere there is a very informative article here on tarpon fishing from a kayak. Required reading sir!
Watching a spent fish sink to its death just plain sucks.

Never measured the pounds. If I had to guess it would be about 10-12

Re: DaveR Catches a Tarpon.....AGAIN!

Nay sayer. They will be in our parts for another month. Remember, it was a late start. After that they will still be in a few haunts but more mileage will be involved.
