I have several medium light redbone rods and they have performed great for many years, no problems. I have heard over the years problems with the heavier redbone models so I have stayed away from them. Persoanlly I hate the blue color on the W & M rods. I am color deficient and don't see colors...

I've never seen a flats Redbone break. Very nice mid price rod.Had mine for many years. I was thinking a good flats rod, that or the wright and mcgill blue rod. Might just have to get both while I still have my discount at sports authority My thoughts here Reading that is what made me look a them.

If you're gonna spring for a tent and bag, consider an air mattress too. Not very macho, but much better for sleeping than the ground or pads. Jungle hammocks are fine, but don't give you any privacy (assuming you're taking your lovely bride too). But they keep you out of the snakes, gators and bug...

My boy isnt 2 yet but he enjoys fishing with me. I cant wait to be able to get him out on a kayak.

I have only done one event, and it was the really crappy day at Ft. Desoto. I had a blast. I would invite my step dad, but i use his kayak to go fishing. I like the idea of the teams.

I have been wanting to get into camping and the Hammok tents look like they would be awesome. Has any one used one with a smaller child? My son will be 2 soon and probiley 3 by the time i start taking him. Would one be suatabile for the 2 of us to sleep in? I doubt it, you would be crammed in a ham...
