First of congrats on catching your first fish outta the kayak. :cheers: I have used a set of x tools pliers for years but also carry a heavier set just in case a wild hook finds flesh. I mean my flesh as snook especially have a tendancy to shake a lot. Trust me you want to have a set of pliers/ cutt...

I'll say it again Just sayin.. it wouldn't hurt anyone to extend until spring of 2014. Give them another winter to get through. It would be a real pisser if we have another hard freeze in 2014

A much as I love the flavor of snook ( closest to my fave walleye ) I really don't think I will keep one this year if the season goes forward as planned. I am just not sure we have enough data to support the SPR of 40% on the gulf although some of the data suggests 43- 48 %. That is not enough margi...

Snook Opening
I haven't seen any posts about the decision to re open snook season in Sept. Did I miss it ? My opinion is they ( the powers that be ) can delay for another year or so after the freeze of 2009 that caused a tremendous loss to the snook population.

Welcome 18hpx ..I agree with Krash.. 5 11 and 260 is pushing the limit of most 12ft. kayaks. And used it a good way as you can usually sell it for what ya got in it .A lot of fun is in customizing your boat to your liking so check out the section on rigged and reviewed kayaks..http://paddle-fishing-...

Easy rod rack: Couple of pieces of pvc across the clothes hangers hooks...drill thru the ends of pvc and put in a paracord loop to catch the hangers.. Just a hintI'll probably put in one of those rod racks in the truck. Dunno...
