Great pics. I have yet to get a bream on the flyrod, they seem to have been pushed out by the tilapia.

Re: Restoring the finish on your rod...

Maguires paste car wax. The old fashion kind that takes elbow grease to buff, not the quickie stuff. Turtle wax paste works too but the green dye in it can affect wrapping color.

All cause you catch a Jack every now and then dont mean they aint gone. Hey it'll get better now that the Gov. is removing all the clean water regulations from state waters. Good Luck

Re: Where have all the jacks gone?

I had the chance to talk to a couple commercial fisherman. They told me the Jacks in Charlotte Harbor are long gone. Wholesale netting and turned to pet food and fish meal sent to Africa. They now concentrate on Lady Fish, Pinfish and Mojarra. They get minced and pressed into frozen fish sticks.

Re: Sarasota Vamo Launch

I dont get it. Id be thrilled if Charlotte Co. parks/rec gave a rats $%# about a yak launch. Let alone treated it like you guys get. Praise the loss of parking spots. It keeps the numbers of ever growing yakking yahoos from swarming your flat like a bunch of yankee flats boats.

Re: TFO spinning rods?

Been using the saltwater series since they came out. I was leary at first cause Ive hated every TFO fly rod Ive picked up. They have become one of my favorite rods. Mostly because they come in a 6ft.'er which is so rare these days of 6'8" and 7"2" rods. They are true to action, more s...

Re: For those of you that use baitcasters.

Never saw a quantum that didnt have reel rash from just sitting in a display case or in a box let alone use. Check out Gander Mountain. They have Zillions on sale for 189. I had one for awhile. Very nice, top quality. I just hate mag brakes. For that matter Citicas are on sale for 80 and Revo S for ...

Re: For those of you that use baitcasters.

The Chronarch and Curado are both being replaced by a similar modular series after ICAST. The current ones are on sale everywhere. I have had alot of bad luck with Shimano this last year. All the septon grips have turned to goo. My new Stradic CI4's have had problems too, eva knobs getting loose. Th...

Re: Penn Battle

Yakkers are starting to get like power boaters........ they spend a thousand bucks or more just for the basic yak, then wont spend a hundred on a reel. I always love to pass those monster color coordinated F-250's hauling a huge Ranger with all those zebcos and walmart outfits scraping the multitude...
