Re: Fish Grip
I think the lock wears out quick and you can only depend on it to hold tight when its newer. Still cheaper to replace it than buy a Boga and the bait monkey requires I use my money on my reel fetish. Man why is it everybody's got a trophy fishin' partner and I only get a 70 year old grumpy cracker t...

Re: Wright & McGill S Curve Rods.
Where do you put the 3ft of rear grip while your sitting in the yak? Every W & M rod Ive seen has a surf casting like grip Id just have to amputate a foot or two of.

Re: Lame situation(al) advice
Ive got hooked alot of fish with circle hooks! I found out that many circle hooks have an off set point and this problem is common. So now I make sure to examine the hooks I buy. For lures I have found that the sensitivity of braid helps me avoid gut hooking. In fact I usually set the hook too soon ...

Re: Myakka River info.
This week the folks at the concession stand told me the ramp is closed on Sundays and Thursdays due to large events on the grounds. You'll have to launch at Border Rd. but the water is FAR from the original launch site due to low water. You will have to struggle in soft mud. The county park launch a...

Rik, Im more than jaded, Im a full blown people hater! You guys think state employees are bad now, wait till the new governor gets finished with lay offs and rape'ing the cops retirement plans! They havent seen over worked yet. 20 D.E.P. cops already laid off. The entire state drug enforcement agenc...

Re: FWC - weekend follies and a bit more...
Im sure there are more good FWC guys than bad. Ive never had a bad experience with them in the field and while on the job I could see their frustration with their lot in life. But I meant that there aint nobody these days worth a crap. People these days are a selfish video game weaned bunch of slugs...

Wow you guys are a mean bunch, makes me glad I hung up my badge. Truly though, nobody hates the cops more than me, I earned it though. Like everybody else in the up and coming generation, the 'adults' that are law enforcement officers now have no common sense...just like everybody. Just look at how ...

I drove over the bridges the other day and the river was just about dry on the low tide on the north side of the bridge. Good luck.

Re: Another Day On The River.......
Peace River? North or south? The new water diversion dyke has emptied the river much more north than Lettuce Lake. Ive been wanting to hit Horse Creek and Iron Lake but Im afraid it'll be just inches deep. We hit Reds pretty good just north of Harbor Heights a couple weeks ago. Not real big but plen...

Re: Another Day On The River.......
Great report. I checked the canoe launce on Border Rd the other day and the water was so low it was like 20 yards of knee deep mud to the water from the bank. I checked the launch on Jacaranda for Curry Creek and the Creek was only 4" deep. Maybe next time the tides will oblige.

Re: Getting started!
Both for taste, thinking the bass wont let it go and to make it sink without having to add a heavy bullet weight. Companies couldnt figure out how Gary Yamamoto made the Senko do what it does basically and had to come up with their own way of producing a senko like action. None of them work quite li...

Re: Getting started!
Zoom Trick Worm with a /0 off set EWG worm hook. Twitch it weightless and let it sink. Work it slow. Get it in Motor Oil Black and watermelonseed. Yamamoto Senko with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook like above, texas rig both. Or wacky rig with a circle or live bait hook, 1/0 size. Just throw it and let it work i...
