X4 I have also been catching peacocks at the pond behind my condo building. They are pretty active now and are good entertainment for a while. Been doing good on the gold/black rapala and spinner baits. Got a freshwater flyrod somewhere and one of those "dreads" should try it out on the re...

I never had the honor of meeting JayB in person. I have always heard only good things about him and enjoyed his reading his posts. He will be missed by all and will never be forgotten.

Yeah, it is pretty much the end of the camping season for me. This is my favorite time of year to fish this area so at least the fishing should be very good for you and your friends. They just opened a new campsite close to Sand Fly Pass - Jewel Key. The northern spit that is visible as you exit the...

The bugs are out in force right now! The no see ums are unbearable. My advice is to see what the wind direction is for the weekend you will be out and plan on being somewhere that favors that wind direction. Fishing is good on the outside and bay right now. If you know how to fish tidal areas you wi...

Dave, so sorry for late reply :( I occasionally camp at Lulu because no permits are required and I like the fishing at West Pass and the areas west of the island. In the back of the island is a nice lagoon where reds abound and you can carry your kayaks to the other side of the island to fish it if ...

I'll keep my eyes peeled in case a good deal comes along you might be interested in. It is hard to come across quality solo canoes cheap but there are some opportunities.

Dustin you are right about that. West Pass area is very good fishing. If you happen to get an incoming tide in the morning and are trying to make it down the islands, try that Russell Key Pass route I show. When the tides are incoming, they will actually help you along westerly towards what I call t...

As soon as I heard the weather report thursday night I called all my paddling friends to see if a quick trip could be organized. Everyone had plans so Connie and I thought it would be nice to do a leisure trip to the gulf. Fish and take pictures as mileage was low. So as not to do a boring Indian Ke...

Beautiful pictures! I have been after a redfish all winter. Paddled far and wide and you catch one that nice on rabbit key  FYI: the "honey barge" that is used to clean out the porta potty has been out of service because John hurt his back and he is the only person that knows how to u...
