Re: Camp Ground near the NMZ
You can camp at Manatee Hammock campground in south Titusville/Port St. John. That's about a 15 minute drive to KARS.

On a roll...
I tried to post this yesterday, but got the blacklisted deal. Weather got crappy, so I decided a bit deeper water might be in order. Most people use the old bait and wait technique in Haulover Canal, but I figure there's nothing that says you can't catch em' on lures. I was right... First one ate a ...

Re: Saturday, Feb 9 - Miguel Bay
Nice fish and pics!
Tubes are really awesome redfish lures. That used to be one of my go-to lures when I fished Jacksonville frequently. I ought to start fishing them again.

I finally got rid of that POS. Found a great deal on a 2005 F150 Lariat. Love it!

Re: NMZ 2/6
Todd, The gator was right between the kayak and where I hooked the fish...when he started running, the kayak got pulled right over the top of the gator. Gator spooked and then the fish drug me far enough away where I felt semi-comfortable. I really needed to get out to deal with a fish that large an...

Re: Your bucket list
Abroad destination would be peacock bass somewhere in the Amazon on topwater flies.
In the US, it's hard to beat pitching flies at laid up tarpon in the mud coves of the Everglades.

Re: Kayak Trailer
I have a Continental trailer for the Gheenoe. IMO, the trailer is a total piece of crap. Boat Master will build you an awesome custom kayak trailer (aluminum with a torsion axle) for about the same price as some of the nicer options listed on this thread.

NMZ 2/6
I fished the NMZ for a couple hours after work today. Still learning the area but the fishing has been pretty good. I came up empty the first hour or so, but then stumbled on a bunch of happy small tarpon (slow rollers hanging at the surface). Kind of unexpected for February. I broke out the gurgler...

Lightning Shots 10/7
We had a big storm blow up last night and sit in one place for about two hours. I had a hard time finding a place to shoot with all the rain, but managed to pull out a few decent shots. I had to resort to shooting through glass for some of these. There isn't a great deal of branching detail in most ...

Ozello 10/6
I went solo on Saturday for my last trip on the Big Bend prior to the move to the other coast (Merritt Island). The weather was great and the tides were decent for a morning excursion to Ozello. The topwater bite was pretty darn good. I landed six reds including 24", 26.75", 27", 28&q...
