Re: Muddin
Really nice fish Dave. Up here, the mudders taper off quite a bit during the cold weather, although I have caught them on calm winter mornings with good sunlight.

A Few Recent Trips
Now that the summer is over, I actually have time to fish some. I made it out several times on the Big Bend over the past couple weeks, and to sum things up, the fishing royally sucked. I managed a couple low slot reds and a small snook one day way up in fresh water on the trusty Skitterwalk Jr. On ...

Fine looking redfish Dave! The strikes from the "mudders" are about tops in my book.

I'm partial to a Magnum Long-A, although dealing with the trebles while in a kayak is bad news.

Re: For those of you that use baitcasters.
Unless you want to drop big $$$ for a Calais ASV, I'd get on Ebay and find an original Chronarch or Chronarch SF. I have five of these reels that are all between 12-15 years old that have been used in the salt (and on the kayak) almost exclusively. With 30lb braid (what I use 99% of the time), you c...

Re: A Few Drum
Steve,
Yeah, they really eat a spinnerbait well. I think they see it much better than other lures (or baits). The key is finding them where they aren't tailing but are still visible.

A Few Drum
The redfish and tarpon were completely absent today for some reason, but there were drum literally everywhere. I only threw at four drum today in favor of chasing reds, but I hooked three of the four and landed two. All of them ate a spinnerbait as usual. The thing is deadly on drum in these parts. ...

Underwater Shots at Silver Glen
I shot these at Silver Glen with a Panasonic Lumix TS2. Nice fish Tommy. Looks like today turned out a little nicer than expected. You get the blacky site fishing or blind?
