We had a great turnout this year. There was a pretty constant flow of folks coming by to look, ask questions and paddle many different boats. At one point it seemed there were more boats being paddled than were sitting on the beach.

I want to thank the following for bringing boats to the Demo Day:

Bill "Heywood" Howard - Malibu kayaks Pro Staff
Tony Lai - Ocean Kayak Pro Staff
Rick Hess - Diablo representative
Todd Llewellyn - Wilderness Systems Pro Staff
Paul Silvernail - RTM kayaks and Liquid Shredder paddleboards representative
Joe Sefchik - Mohawk canoes
John Lee and Mark Couch - Emotion kayaks Pro Staff
Norm Hall - Native kayaks

A special thanks goes to Norm for showing his personal boat. Norm is not on Native's Pro Staff nor is he involved in any way with the sales of Native. He did it on his own time to help the Demo Day be successful.

We had a great time at the demo today. Many thanks to bill for all his help (I think, lol). I was looking at a pro angler, but i really enjoyed being out on the stealth 14, so now i've decided to get one of those. At first i was excited, thinking i would be saving money, however my wife now wants a stealth 12 and my son (pictured above in the pink mini x) wants the mini x. In fact, once bill told my son they had it in camo, he wanted it right then!

We all enjoyed trying out the models. Thank you to everyone who brought kayaks out for us to try.

However, looks like were gonna be a malibu family!

What a day :D To all those I met for the first time, thanks for coming out. I was really great meeting all the new faces. To all the old faces and I do mean old, it was great seeing you too. Remember, “That’s no tattoo, it’s an expiration stamp”.

Sorry for the lack of pics, I was really busy today.

Hi Rik,

My son recognized were right as we were walking to the beach. " the one that caught a tarpon on a kayak!"
My family had fun seeing and trying out what the pros use...
And to top it all off... Dolphins swam by my daughter as she was trying out the emotion kayak...

Now I know what the whole family wants for Christmas!!! ( I will work on it soon as I return the kayak I bought last week from a sporting good chain store...)

It was great to meet and talk to you all..

Thanks again...
Alex

Thanks to everyone who helped put this on.

I changed my bass fishing plans to hit the flats in the morning before paddling back to check out the Demo. Been wanting to take the diablo out for a spin since the first time I saw it and I was not disappointed.. what a cool kayak. Couple guys browsing the Demo came over to check out my Ride135 as I got done fishing so i chatted them up for a bit.

Hung out with Rik and Rick Hess from Diablo for a few before I had to head back to lakeland. Good Time!

Thank you very much for the compliment Rik....it was my pleasure and a labor of love. I always enjoy introducing people to a sport that has brought me so much pleasure
It was a really great turn out and it was fun to see the excitement generated with the newcomers.

I did learn one thing about one of our newer people here on P-Fing....that "Big Guy"... he really is a BIG GUY :!:
