Jose Wejebe killed in plane crash

Jose Wejebe, who hosted Spanish Fly, a saltwater fishing show on the Outdoor Channel and formerly ESPN, died when his kit plane plummeted into a field near the runway shortly after take-off from Everglades Airpark. Wejebe is the registered owner of the plane, according to FAA records.

Kinda weird. I was watching recordings of his show when his plane went down yesterday. Always enjoyed his work. RIP Jose.

Wow. I met him at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show this year. I mentioned the episode with his plane as one of my favorite. I saw him again at the Miami show. That is very sad to hear.

Jose and Flip Pallats shows were the ones I really enjoyed. They seemed to be more about the fishing and destination as opposed to product mentions per minute.
