Great project.

Now, if they will do something about the thieves that hang out there it might be a nice place to go paddle again.

This site - http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/projects/ ... pa_bay.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - has some detailed documents about both the freshwater and saltwater Cockroach Bay projects (listed separately). You'll also find info on other projects all around the bay

It appears there is one straight canal that connects this area to Cockroach just east of Big Pass. Just don't know if the canal is passable or paddleable :? OR if we are even allowed to enter that way.

There is just one entrance in to the saltwater portion of the restoration. Once they open the land side area up to the public there is supposed to be a kayak launch or two that will be public. Right now the only way in is from the bay side. It can be tough on a low tide.

Yep....that was the one I was referring to...I could see it on google....just didn't know if it was passable or even if we were allowed to enter from there now. If it is passable...can we now paddle in there or do we have to wait for the official opening?

If anyone goes in there head to the north and just around the bend in the creek there will be a Mirrolure She Dog about 25' up in a tree. Will someone grab that for me?

You cannot get in there at Low Tide......Water rips thru there during high tide, one of the worst 100yds you will paddle in the area......If you don't know where to go you will tear up your boat seriously......If you are in there and you let the tide start to go out you are stuck for a few hours NO WAY OUT........
