Strange sighting....

Post by nuyak »

I was fishing in about 5-8ft of water near the 4th street bridge today
Around 2pm. I heard loud thrashing about 80yds east of my location.
I figured it was a school of dolphins. As I took a closer look, I saw a massavie
Tail out of the water maybe 5ft out of the water. I could plainly hear the animal
Blow air like a passing ship. I did not see a dorsal fin so that ruled out a few
Animals in my mind. A few seconds later I saw a massive head come out of the water.
Based on the thrashing and feeding type behavior I rule out a manatee.

If this was a manatee, it had to be 25 to 20ft long!! Needless to say I didnt
Stick around to investigate further, and as luck would have it, I forget my
Camera on this trip.

Has anyone seen or experienced something like this? There may be a recird sized manatee
Lurking the bay. Also this thing was not moving 1 to 2 mph, it was darting thru the water
Attacking fish!!!!

Maybe it was Joe Bidden or Newt Gingrich - they have a propensity to blow hot air, have a big head, give the illusion that they are bigger than they really are, and are always attacking something.

Now if it was chasing tail...I would have put my money on Clinton.

I have seen what looked to be a couple of smaller whales up in the North end of the bay off Cypress point, but that was about 20 or so years ago.
