Decisions decisions. Input please.

Post by CarolinaYakFisher »

Ok so I just sold my 9.5' sit-inside yak because I want a SOT. I can't afford the big name brands like Hobie, Jackson, etc as much as I would love to have a Jackson. I've been researching, reading tons of reviews, and watching nearly every YouTube video available and I'm trying to decide between the Ascend FS12T and the FS128T. Of coarse the 128 is 8" longer and I think an inch wider so neither of those are big factors. The main difference is the 128 has the higher swivel chair and more below deck storage (which I'm not sure I would use that much). Both look like great fishing platforms and both have pros and cons for me. If any of you have been on either or both of these, which would you recommend and why? Thanks in advance for the help.

Or you could go this route - http://paddle-fishing-forum.com/viewtop ... 10&t=39403" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks Rik. I looked at the Ascend website. I noticed they are still showing the old style FS12T. If I go with the 12T I want the newer style. Better for standing. Also I found a Hobie Quest 13 on craigslist for $550. Seriously thinking about it but not sure yet

Here's a link to a site that lets you search all Craigslist postings in the state of Florida with the push of a button: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info? ... 6956135c3a

I did a test search for "Wilderness Kayak" and found several listings under $500 on the first page. Worth looking into: http://pipes.yahoo.com/pipes/pipe.info? ... 6956135c3a
