This is the threadwork on a couple rods I built for my youngest daughter and her husband. I painted one blank pearl blue, the other pearl purple and used three shades each of Madera poly-neon thread.
My picture taking ability leaves allot to be desired! They look much nicer up close.

Here's something I did last weekend. This is a refinished casting rod which I did as though it was a spinning rod so its upside down and has to be done over. The blank has a brown base with gold pearl then a little green pearl on top which gives it a rootbeer color with a shimmer of green.

Very nice Phil. I think thread art is awesome, I don't do them because they take a long time to do and I don't have the patience.
