Rainy Monday

Post by Manning »

Well the unreliable weather forecast got me again. The forecast said it was not supposed to rain until noon, but about 10 am this morning when I was a good mile from the launch down it came. This was also my fault since the sky looked something like this shortly after launching.

Luckily I started catching fish before I had gone to far. Since the action was pretty steady I didn't make the long run to other areas. A wise man once told me that you don't leave fish to find fish. By the time the rain started I had caught 21 trout and 6 lady fish so I had had my fun. The trout were all on the small size. Maybe 8 or 10 would have made it to the lower end of the slot. Here is a picture of one pretty little trout. I am posting this picture because I know some of you went fishing yesterday and didn't get to see any of these.

Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

Buttonwood. Was back up there yesterday in a flats boat and it was much, much slower. Like all places so much depends on water temp amd water movement.
