Rainbow river! w/ pics

Paddling the rainbow river with a group of youth on Saturday.
Anyone have any info on fishing there it would be greatly appreciated.

I fished it many years ago. You can find bluegill and bass in the weed lines, but the water is very clear and the fish can see you, your hook, your leader. I would recommend realistic flies/lures. For fishing with very young kids, you can catch a bunch of small bream with worms. The best fishing is where the Rainbow joins up with the Withlachoochee.

It is a great river for snorkeling and swimming. Snorkeling downstream with your canoe in tow is the ticket. It is a beautiful river (take the camera).

Thanks BC! I'm sure we will do more swimming/snorkeling than fishing.
The flyrod will be in hand just in case.

The only way to really enjoy is to paddle yourself!
Very beautiful river, take the wife, kids, family,friends, solo,write a book, paint a picture,wash your feet kind of place.
