freshwater kayaking?

Post by Rooster »

are gators a problem? i was thinking about doing some paddleing in lake seminole and try my hand at freshwater fishing, however the thought of a 12 foot gator vs a 12 foot kayak has me very nervous to try it.

Gators shouldn't be a problem. Like you've heard before, they are more scared of you than you of them.

Just give them space and enjoy the scenery.

Is your kayak green?

Some spots in mating season ...well..you get the idea.
For the most part the statement is right..they are more afraid of you. Just give them thier space.

The beer swigging idiots hanging out by your truck when you get back in, are alot scarier.

Or the ones who break into your truck.

I recommend carrying along a small yappy dog to throw in the water if the gators get too close, great distraction. But, they won't bother you if, as stated, you give them room, especially during mating and brooding season.

For the right price, I can be persuaded to round up a few small yappy dogs...specializing in toy poodles...and ship. They make the best gator bait.

Wait until after June. It is the peak of alligator mating season and those big males are going to moving around. You sure don't want to get in the way of their once a year fun.

I knew Judy Cooper. This happened in May of last year.

I do a fair amount of freshwater fishing and it is always on my mind. Just one of those things I can't shake. I guess I have watched to much Discovery Channel.
