It's the most wonderful time...

Post by BlueCrab »

..well almost.

This is the time of year I like to put the ol' school T160 up in the rack and breakout the SIK and do some speck fishin'. Hit the water with my 6wt and had a blast. Braved the wind and the waves on Sunday and caught my limit (25). None were of the size that I like for invitin' to dinner, but it only gets better from here through March.

I like to use size 8 and 10 crappie candies (ie green over white clouser w/ bead chain eyes). Any sinking fly with white marabou and flash will work.

I have been using a Fast Sink tip line, but with the lack of rain lately, I am going to switch to an intermediate.
