Call me Capt. Jon!

Post by prowler13angler »

My cousin just came down from NH for a couple days...Northern kid, he loves the beach and the Florida lifestyle, so I figured I could show him how we do it a little more in depth...

Took him out to a lake with some bait and showed him the rigging, baiting, and casting. He needed a little work on hook-set, but when I pulled out the circle hooks he was a champ. He got to watch the float dive into the bushes as I held up the rod and he wenched in the fish!

Nice Bass

P13Angler.

I am glad to see you are getting some youngsters interested in fishing, a good pastime for life.

I hope you will give some thought to holding your bass up supported solely by the lip. There has been much discussion in these forums that a better way is to also support the fishes stomach while you are holding it for a photo.

Maybe bass are tougher than the inshore saltwater fish and someone will comment.

Please keep your reports and photos coming.
