hobie Pro-Angler???

Post by silverking »

Good evening,
Have any of you guys heard about the new hobie coming out? Its called the Hobie pro-angler. It is going to be more of a boat than a kayak i have heard. Its suppose to come on the market this spring. This sound like the boat to get. I saw a picture of it on Kayakfishnation.com

UPDATE: We were asked to remove the picture of the Hobie Pro Angler from the site. Apparently it’s not finished yet and nobody wants it mis-represented before a final product is released. Sorry! We now return you to the previously posted artists rendering…

That does look a lot like the picture on kayak nation.

Without knowing the dimensions, I'm gonna say that it looks very top heavy.

It actually looks pretty fishing friendly to me.
That looks like a bass boat seat.

From the above reference hobie site:

"One of the world's lightest, most efficient, feature-filled boats on the market today"

Specifications: Length: 13' 8 "
Width: 38"
Hull Weight: 88 lbs.
Fully Rigged Weight: 138 lbs.

Definitely a trailer queen...or at least a hullavator.

Feature filled must be the keywords here.

Any boat I buy that weighs over 100 pounds will have a nonhuman motor on it.

Put a 25 HP Mercury on the back and add a poling platform and I might be interested.

Damn man there are some pro angler hating fools on this site. lol this is the best purchase I have ever made. I love my Pro angler. I am 285 lbs and all man.... I am able to troll for fish easier. I can take what I want with me. get this--- I can spin around to my cooler to get a drink and not worry about swimming. I can walk the dog topwater like a pro . And when I come home at night my shoulders are not sore from the 5 dislocations from cage fighting that I have had. When I take this pig camping I might even bring my grill and all the guys that show up will love the burgers that are cooked on it. lol... All kidding aside I have the cart for longer launches and I do not mind launching because I am always fishing with someone anyway. I could launch myself no problem though. It has a awesome storage bin between your knees that you can set up nicely to avoid clutter. I even have plenty of room to put my garmin gps mounted on the side plate. If you can swing the price of this kayak or if you want call it a boat then it is worth it. The seat is also super comfortable. It does have the weight disadvantage for the smaller guys and takes up more space. It is very maneuverable too. Just my two cents for the haters and misinformed.
