Good day at Fort D

Post by JC »

Launched at sunrise for the last few hours of the falling tide. Got into a school of reds right away and landed three, all around 18". Later in the morning caught another red and then got a small flounder. No catfish or ladyfish, but did get a lizardfish. Caught everything on a red jig head w/ white curly tail jig and never got more than 100 yards from the car. Home by early afternoon. Most successful day for me so far. Sorry but no pictures. When I get a little better at catching I'll start working on the picture taking. The Fort is looking very healthy. Tons of bait fish everywhere, lots of mullet, and the grass looks great. Got to witness upclose when flipper went midevil on a school of mullet. It was a masacre, with flipper throwing fish up in the air and coming completely out of the water as he hit the school from underneath. Sure sucks to be at the bottom of the food chain.
