Thursday report

Post by DaveR »

But it's only Wednesday you say!
The Dutch beer is on ice.
The rendezvous with some good ole' fishin buddies is set.
The winds look manageable.
The tides are just right.
The broken bone is only a toe. (blame that one one trying to keep up with an Irishman at the pub)
Even if I don't catch a bloody thing it's gonna be a fine day.
Standby for pics even if it's only 3 slobs casting at that school of redfish that "just have to be around here somewhere."

Lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of redfish. Got tired of saying 'got another one'.......

Started slow and then turned on with the outgoing tide.

There were dead mullet all over Ft Desoto today. Floating dead, on the bottom dead. Began to think it was just mullet until we saw a few dead pinfish mixed in.

There were plenty of live ones along with schools of monster snook and some good sized sheepies. The snook weren't interested in anything I was throwing, they'd just get out of the way. Probably should have netted up some livies.

It was a wonderful day. Good breeze all day, no wilting sun, the beer was ice cold and my buddies didn't catch more fish then me. All in all, I'd give it a 9. Right now, I'm just too tired to wax poetic.

Rik forgot one thing. None of the dozens of fish we caught broached the 21" mark.
A great day none the less.

Hey Rik,
I think FD area was the main nursery this year for reds.
I caught 12 and 25 in 2 trips, but they were all 15 t0 20".
They're gonna grow up!!!!!!!
