I DID IT!!! NOW WITH VIDEO!

Post by Redfisher »

I got my first kayak tarpon! :D 100 lb +/- What a thrill!
I went out with Nik(yaknnik) and Art(don't think he posts here)this morning.I caught mine around 7:00 and Nik hooked up around 9:00 with his first tarpon ever. He handled it like a pro but I stayed close to assist if needed.

We did everything to be safe and had a great day.

I thought this would be something I could do once and just check it off my list but I don't think that's going to work out. :D

Everyone was new at this once I hope you can appreciate that.

Thanks guys. Yeah Nik is working on a video. Hopfuly I can steal a few shots from the video. I got pics of Niks because he held his for pics at the kayak but mine broke off after getting the leader. I would have liked to get a shot holding it but I guess breaking it off after leadering is the best anyway. Nik says he got atleast one good shot of mine jumping and I am very happy with that. She jumped several times and each time my heart almost jumped out of my chest.

Phenominal video guys
Ditto that! Superb video. That really captures the moment. I'm going to have to wash my shorts  after watching that video 10 times.

Sign me up for the next tarpon trip! :)
