Is the GLX blank really worth the extra bucks compared to the GL3?

No....there are other blanks that I would use before spending that kind of money on the GLX (ie. St. Croix, CTS, Lamiglas, Rainshadow).

Take the money you save and invest it on the Fuji Titanium or AMT Titan guides.
