Independence Day in Cedar Key

Post by Uncle Tommy »

Took the lovely miss Daniela up to Cedar Key for the holiday weekend. The local clammers put on a festival all day capped off with fireworks that evening. It's a real small town feel with a golf cart parade, greased pole, and mullet tossing contest. All the men took off their hats when the veterans raised the flag and the local high school girl sang the anthem. I like that.

UT -- very nice father/daughter trip to a most excellent place. Gotta love those clams.

I really, really want to get back to Cedar Key and take Linzy and visit my flyfishing friend there. Maybe we can match schedules with our daughters.

I finally found Cow Creek. It's at the end of the Road to Nowhere!

Yea that clam festival looked like a good thing, we spent ours in Steinhatchee, they had a great fireworks show too, along with about a million armatures throughout the night. Great pictures.
