Ramblings from the PFTS Tournament Director.....

Post by Todd »

Assorted stuff you should know, try to do, have done, etc before Saturdays PFTS.

-Read the rules, they are important.

-If you signed up, please show up.

-Read the rules concerning the payment you will make in the AM. It is very simple.

Cost:
$10 Entry Fee
$10 One time fee for participation in the Season Long Pot
$15 One time fee donated to Paddle-Fishing.com.

Total-$35 if participating in the season long pot, $25 if not participating.

-PLEASE HAVE EXACT CHANGE AND KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR.

-Check your tounament bag and make sure your is a token in it.

-There is no guarantee the pen in the bag will work.

-We have brand new tokens provided by Wilderness Systems Kayaks this year so leave the numbered poker chips at home.

-If it were me I would drill a hole in my measuring board and poke a hole in the token and tie it to my measuring board.

-Bring your tokens back in order to participate in the raffle. No token=no raffle.

-First place receives 50% of the entry fees, a Wang Anchor and a print donated by Finatic Designs. Second/third also receive cash.

-We wil pay first and second for eash other division with the first place snook down to the second place trout choosing gift certificates from-
Hook1
Masthead Enterprises
Holy Mackerel Tackle
Dogfish Tackle
Bluewater Fishing Supply
Bill Jacksons Shop for Adventure
Canoe Country

-$1 buys you a raffle ticket for a Polar Bear Cooler. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Tampa BayWatch. You can buy as many tickets as you would like.

-Please erase all of the unnecessary pics from your memory cards.

-Benefit of attending the Pic-n-Sip? Free online issue to Kayak Angler Magazine.

-Please do not ask the judges who/what is winning, is it worth it to turn in my sheet, etc. Fill in your angler scorecard and hand it to Rik and we will let you know if we need to look at your pictures.

-Don't forget to grab a sample of the Dri Grip Sunscreen. Interesting stuff, and yes, it does work.

-if you see another paddle fisherman and they have more than two rods on their boat they better not be fishing in the tournament.

-Show up with a great attiude and leave with a better one after spending the day with a great group of paddle fisherman.

One more time.

Cost:
$10 Entry Fee
$10 One time fee for participation in the Season Long Pot
$15 One time fee donated to Paddle-Fishing.com.

Total-$35 if participating in the season long pot, $25 if not participating.

It is a big help when someone shows up and has the EXACT Change and knows what they want. There are only two choices-

Pay $25 and you are not in the season long pot

or

Pay $35 and you are in the season long pot.

Trying to cut down on the 15-20 in line who do not have their money ready and will give us a blank stare with no clue how much to pay.

Exact change is appreciated.

The first photo on the camera must be of your rigged boat as put in at launch with measuring device and scoring marker visible.

Can a "slot" fish be retained for.... dinner? I read in another post that someone thought about it with a fish that might not make it anyway. Just for clarification, the rules do say catch and release.
"Likes smokey old pool rooms N clear mountain mornins. Little warm puppies, children and girls of the night"?

Go for it. Filet it up and the restaurant might cook it for us.

Great Question, even better answer.

I'd rather be fishing right now.

Why is the map sideways? It confuses me not having North pointing in the correct direction.
Paddles - they aren't just for the bedroom anymore.

That Dri Grip sunscreen is the best stuff out there! Highly recommend it!
