That, my friends, is what is called "redcrusher thumb". The only way to be afflicted with redcrusher thumb is to have stuck fingers and thumbs down the jaws of multiple redfish to extract your fly, and have the redfish munch down on them while they were in there .....
Sweet success on Saturday when I got 5 reds to 'yakside. All caught on the fly I tied for black drum -- this guy:
I couldn't find any black drum this trip ..... finally at the end of the day, I run into another 'yakker who said "yeah, I think there were some right off the launch to the right. I spend an hour throwing to them and couldn't get any bites". I had, of course, launched and paddled to the left ...........
