Walgreens Pliers

Post by MrSpectaculous »

I was in the Walgreens on 54th and 9th and low and behold they had a spinning rack with fishing tackle. It actually had some pretty good stuff. DOA,Rapala, and others. I spied these pliers and always wanting a pair with a lanyard and holster but not wanting to spend a fortune. Fifteen bucks and they will fit on a belt or the Ultimate seat or scotty mount. They cut 20lb power pro and are claimed to be stainless with a black nickel finish.

I have a pair like that (a little longer) that I've been using for at least 15 years.

I have a pair like that plus cheap scissors......and cheap line clippers...started carrying them over 15 years ago....they used to rust quickly too.....then I learned wash then like everything else when you get home, dry them off and spray them down with spray like Reel Magic. I haven't bought a replacement in I can't remember when....a little maintenance goes a loooooong way.

I line all my stuff up....spray em down with fresh water, dry em off and spray everything assembly line style....turn each item over, spray the other side and I'm done. I've got a pair of cheap 7" needle nose that are older than my kids...and they gadjeeated kollege!

Take a couple of the bucks you saved and buy a can of WD-40. Spray them down after every rinse and dry. Works on mine.

Don't care what pliers you get, they're gonna rust after a while. I got one of those sheaths from Walmart that you fill the sponge inside with lube and my rusty pliers work like a charm every time.. :thumbright:
