The BigCatch Chronicles 7/8/11 "Flamingo"

Post by mangohunter »

Well I decided to mix it up and chase down some Bull reds. I Link up with Dj and head over to the bug infested swamp we like to call Mingo. On the way down we made a quick stop as I couldn't help myself at catch baby tarpon. Say what you will but I'm addicted to catching these fish!

The bite was on fire. We went 1 for 10 on these little guys. With a few snook that didn't commit to the hook.
Now for the reason we came to this great fishery. After paddling and poling for some time the tails start popping up in every direction.

DJreaction hooks up first and about a min later I sight cast to a healthy 29" red!

The day ended on a great note. Not many fish caught but good times in the majestic trails of Flamingo....

Very easy to become addicted to small tarpon!
Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley

And they're MUCH easier on your gear, from what I understand...
