So sorry to hear this news. He was clearly a strong, positive advocate for the sport and a good friend to many. Rest in peace Mark.

Very shocking news! I'm so very sorry to hear of his passing. May the powers above comfort his family and friends through this difficult time. He was definitely a great contributor to our sport, this site and will be truely missed by so many!!!

I'm very sad to hear of Mark's passing, he was too young. Makes you think about our own mortality and how we should continue to live life to it's fullest.

May you rest in peace Mark Bellotte, you will not be forgotten.

Damn. Mark was a gracious and nice guy anytime I was around him. I remember when I first started out kayak fishing I ran into him out at Weedon. I knew who he was from this site and said hello. Rather than haul ass, which is what most would do, he invited me to tag along and fish with him and Sharon. I ended up learning some new skills and tactics that day that I still use anytime I go out there. He had a great sense of humor and always kept it light which I appreciated.

RIP Cook.

I only met Mark a couple of times over the past several years, but I will never forget the first time that I ran into him at Picnic Island about 5 years ago when I was just getting into kayaking. I recognized him from this site and will never forget all of the pointers and tips he gave me that morning even though we had never met before.

He will certainly be missed.

I never met Mark except through his posts here. Wish I had known him. When I die, I hope I have a few frends who think as well of me, as you guys think of him. My condolences go out to his family and his many friends.
