We'll be eagerly awaiting said report. The die has been cast for win, fail, or smirk. Hopefully the judges will deem it to be a zebra on a motorcycle.

Epic fishing report begins.

The morning was exceptionally chilly so we launched at a post sunrise time of 7:30ish. Bill got out earliest to get in on the early action. I was next to launch and Dave, having all the local knowledge, lagged behind us.

By 8:15 we were all on the water and buzzing from expectations of epic fishing. We were not to be disappointed. First up was Dave. In what was probably his 32nd cast, he hooked into his first red of the day. The fight was strong which produced a few grunts from Dave as he gallantly fought the fish. After a minute or two, he finally won the battle and landed the fish. Please excuse the smudge in the photo. With all of the action something got on the lens.

After taking some time to catch our breath from the excitement, it was now Bill's turn. He caught his on a topwater - Spook Jr of course - which made his catch all that much more exciting. The massive strike splashed water at least 6 inches in the air. He caught it like the prostaffer he is and quickly had it in hand for another photo opp.

We got off the water around noon 30 and had to stand around and talk about our epic day for a while so that we could settle down and recover enough to not be a danger to others while driving home.

So, naysayers, there it is. An epic fishing report. You're welcome.

Dave's hat sucks. Thus, this report is not epic.

Per JBD standards, this is a Maroney report.

Nice report. Surprised you didn't find any snook up there.
Please excuse the smudge in the photo. With all of the action something got on the lens.
I think I heard Ron Jeremy say that once. :D
Being out on the water in the kayak is the prize. Catching fish is the bonus.

Like Rik said, I launched early in search of beavers, none were to be had this morning. Crafty foes those beavers are.

Sight casted this big fat 28" red. Sawing him feeding, tail just about out of the water, made the cast, dropped the Slayer Inc SST in Bounty Hunter in front of him, watched the take and the fight was on. Truly Epic.

Yeah that fish was dark, real black edges to his tail. Pretty cool the different colors these fish can adapt too.

This fishing report is more epic - epicer? - since it is the only fishing report from yesterday.

Bill's stalk of that redfish was epic. Tv stuff. I turned around just in time to see his crouching tiger stace, quick flip of his jig, and hook set with an exclamation of "got him!". Didn't know the old fart had it in him. EPIC

But it wasn't Chuck Norris Epic Win.

  • ep·ic [ep-ik] Show IPA
    adjective Also, ep·i·cal.
1.noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style: Homer's Iliad is an epic poem.
2.resembling or suggesting such poetry: an epic novel on the founding of the country.
3.heroic; majestic; impressively great: the epic events of the war.
4.of unusually great size or extent: a crime wave of epic proportions.
    noun
    5.an epic poem.
    6.epic poetry.
    7.any composition resembling an epic.
8.something worthy to form the subject of an epic: The defense of the Alamo is an American epic.
9.( initial capital letter ) . Also called Old Ionic. the Greek dialect represented in the Iliad and the Odyssey, apparently Aeolic modified by Ionic.
Since there were fish, but no long poetic composition I rate it a win, but not an epic win. Furthermore - the use of "epic-er" demeans the story. Hence the Cuban judges give it merely a win.

My report fits all of that except for the poetry stuff. I suck at poetry.
