strange shark behavior
strange shark behavior
Friday when the tide was so high I saw sharks with their tails in the air. It looked as if they were signaling by flagging. The tails were long and thin the shark almost black At times there were 2 doing this at the same time. This occurred on the flats at the back side of Honeymoon Island. When I googled the description Thresher Sharks was the best match. This is the first and only time I have seen this behavior. Sharks on Honeymoon island flats is not unique tail waving is.
Re: strange shark behavior
Update on the sharks. It seems that it is nurse shark mating season. They come to the flats for some woopie activity and the tail waving is common to this activity. Who knew.
