some advice

i am going to start building some rods soon,just got mu kit in the mail.i was wondering what is a good blank that i could start off with?and guides?i was looking at the mudhole $15 blanks and Fuji Alconite Spinning Guides.
any advice would be appreciated.

Get something the MHSK-23 or MHSK-24. They make decent rods and when you're ready to move up, pass it along to someone in the family/friends.

I am actually building my gf a rod with the MHSK-23 rod kit. For $47 this is really a nice rod. Very light. Fast action. I am sure there are better rods out there, but I don't think you could beat this one for value.
