Reel repair..Valrico area

Post by Norm »

Not sure if this is old news, but I located a guy in Valrico. Works out of his house and has been doing this for years. His name is Rick Dukes and seems to be a very nice guy. I dropped off two reels with him yesterday and will report back when I get them back next week.

I've used Rick a number of times...its been a while, but he is a decent guy and has done good by me in the past.

That's good to know Jon...Thanks :!: He sounded very knowledgeable when we talked and showed me some things to do in the future to prevent some problems.

I'm sure this guy is good but I bet he can't fix this Okuma Alumina sitting on my desk. Image

Hehe
It, ummm, still "works" (if that's what ya wanna call it). I just can't get it apart to make it work better.

When Jeff wets a line, he goes all out. Ya might even say he goes "overboard".

Ya think that might explain some of the problems :?: :?

I have two Okuma VS's and have yet to have the first problem...but of course I haven't tried to use them as an anchor yet

I feel your pain Mark..I have one alumina that I could not install a new handle on with a hammer..
It just sat to long without cleaning ... my new replacement gets much better care.
My vs's are both in great shape too Norm.
Much more pleased than the old stradics...they got the DaveR treatment.
