Catch of the day

Post by CooKnFish »

To prove Todd is a liar, I forced myself to fish Weedon inside and out and was there all day. I saw maybe 3 reds all day and there's no way any of them were caught by Todd (they were way too smart).

But as I waded across a flat known for redfish activity, something caught my eye. I just wish that I had my big bobber cooler with me today. It would have been perfect!

I watched it 3 times waiting for the anchor to pop out of the ground quickly while you were tugging on it.

You must lack the necessary skills.

Cook, we spent 4 hrs out there, and the only fishies biting were of the ladyfish variety. I did see one red, a brazilian rays, flippers and a pair of sea cows.

Also, it seems that several hundred kayakers read Todd's post about a lack of fishing pressure on Saturday and decided to correct that little problem.

No way! There's not a gust or wave that will knock me off my honey hole. You guys carrying around those useless foldup anchors just can't hang.

I agree. Todd is a liar. I saw one red the entire day and it was 15 inches and on my hook.

Thats actually what they call a snapping shrimp. Its like a mini mantis shrimp. We've been learning about them in my invertebrate zoology class at Stetson for my Marine Bio major. We were actually out in the intracoastal in New Smyrna looking around today and finding bunches of them. Look like sheepshead bait to me. Oh yeah the redfish bite is on over here in the lagoon, but I still love the bay and that whole weedon area.
You aint gonna catch any fish if your line isn't in the water. Never stop casting.

Rik! I was waiting too. That big pull off to starboard was aching for a wader full of cold water!
Splitcoasts be very careful. Folks around here hate it when new guys know what they're talking about.
